So What Happened to XPath 1.0?

• XPath 1.0 is a subset of XPath 2.0
• In other words, the functionality of XPath 1.0 has been
  • incorporated (subsumed)
  • built upon (added to)
  • generalized (in an almost backwards-compatible way)
• Bottom line: You still need XPath 1.0 path logic
• And — your XPath 1.0 skills are still useful!
