Moving Safely from 1.0 to 2.0

• The paranoid approach: maintain 1.0 and 2.0 stylesheets separately, see it as a migration pathway
• The realistic approach: start with 1.0 if you like, 2.0 if you can
  • Be aware of the existence of differences (small but sometimes significant)
  • Test/review thoroughly if you migrate code
• XSLT 1.0 discipline serves very well in 2.0!
  • XSLT requires being able to turn your brain inside out (says Tim Bray).
    (And the problem is?)
  • XPath 2.0 will help both those with flexi-brains, and those without (and so will XSLT 2.0)
