Document differencing

• XSLT wasn't built for this, so it's difficult
• Complications involve defining “significant” differences
  • Is a difference in whitespace a difference?
  • Differences in tagging aren't the same as differences in content
  • Nevertheless, the task is not impossible (and has been done in some narrow cases)
• XSLT 2.0 will be better
  • deep-equal() function
• Commercial tools are also available (YMMV)
