The W3C has Provided Tools

• HTML Validation Service (validate against HTML 4.0)
• HTML Tidy
  • Standalone tool for checking, rationalizing HTML
    • “Fixes” many markup errors (but valid may not be correct)
    • Converts HTML to well-formed XML (but may be surprising)
    • Try running more than once over same file!
  • Pretty-prints too
