Who I am
Yet another Mulberry consultant ("YAMC") who works with XML DTDs, writes supporting documentation, and teaches XML classes. You may have seen me at markup-related conferences -- I'm the one flitting about, assisting at registration, nagging speakers for their Non-exclusive Publication Agreements, and managing the poster hall. |
Past Life (?)
In a prior incarnation, I was one of those good-for-nothing, low-life environmental attorneys people deride; I even litigated Superfund liability issues. (Actually, I'm still a card-carrying attorney and have even been known to review a Mulberry contract or two!) |

Favorite Quotation
You have to understand why things work the way they do. -- Star Trek II, The Wrath of Khan (paraphrased) |
Personal Philosophy
Never run when you can walk, never walk when you can stand, never stand when you can sit, and never sit when you can lie down and SLEEP! |
Work Philosophy
Have suitcase, will travel |
Distinguishing Characteristics
A twang that, while never really gone, becomes INFINITELY more noticeable when I'm happy, excited, anxious, perturbed, tired, angry ... or talking with my mother |
A fanaticism for UK (that's University of Kentucky to the uninformed) basketball. Like all "Big Blue" fans, I live for March Madness and dream of NCAA championships! |
A passion for all types and forms of history, including antique furniture and collectibles |
Eccentricities
When I was house hunting, friends justifiably teased that I was buying a house for all my furniture, not me. |
I'm a scavenger who loves yard sales and consignment stores. (My father swore this compulsion results from a flawed gene running through my mother's family!) |
Best Four-Legged Buddy
Libby, a 4-year-old Labrador/Husky, who has turned my Personal Philosophy on its ear -- my "personal trainer" and I walk 25 miles/week on average. (For those who knew her, my beloved Justice passed away in 2004.) |
